Police have released the identity of a Surrey fatal stabbing victim with hopes of advancing their investigation.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has identified the victim as Jason Richard Gill, a 47-year-old man from Surrey. 

Surrey RCMP said they responded to a complaint of a fight in the 6600-block of King George Boulevard just after 11:50 p.m. PT Tuesday. 

They found Gill suffering from stab wounds and he died at the scene despite the efforts of first responders.
